Coach: Todd Anderson
21-22 Record: 22-4
The Cardinals are coming off a season that saw them make a trip to the Class 5A state tournament a year ago. In this new season, head coach Todd Anderson says there will be some new faces but he expects a similar level of success. “We graduated six of the eight guys that earned varsity minutes last season,” he said. “But the guys who will be filling their shoes this season have been successful at the ninth-grade and junior varsity levels. I believe we will be competitive in the Metro Lakes Conference, as well as in the Lincoln Christian Tournament, and hope to be playing our best basketball in February into March.”
One of the guys stepping up to be a big-time player on the team is Zac Brown (6-8, Jr.). He is a solid scorer and rebounder and will look to be a leader on this team. Kobe Bailey (6-1, Sr.) is the only senior on the squad and is looking to end his career on a high note. Nick Scyrkels (6-3, Jr.), Noah Warden (6-1, Jr.), Jace Herald (6-1, Jr.), and Aiden Anderson (5-8, So.) are going to be called on to help fill vacancies left by graduation and help the team be successful.
Other Cardinals that will look to earn some playing time are Austin Normandin (6-0, So.), Peyton Tompkins (5-9, Jr.) Ethan Hadley (6-1, So.), Isaiah Murphy (5-11, Jr.), Walton Cavanaugh (6-0, Jr.), and Kane Abshire (6-3, So.).
