Collinsville’s Adde Davison
For Addelyn “Adde” Davison, wearing a Collinsville High School uniform is about much more than wins and losses. The Lady Cardinals varsity softball player sees each game as a chance to bring pride to the town she grew up in.
“I love that our team is a combination of all different types of players and attitudes that just want to win and bring pride to Collinsville,” Davison said. “We have people who are leaders within every grade, and you can tell that everyone is pushing toward the same thing which is to be successful.”
Davison, who also cheers varsity and is involved in STUCO, said playing for Collinsville carries a special weight. “It means a lot to play for Collinsville, and you can tell that all of us love playing for our town,” she said. That pride shows up in how she approaches each practice, each at-bat and each inning in the field.
Her standard for how to play the game was set by family. Davison points to two cousins as her biggest softball inspirations. One is former Pryor standout and Oklahoma national champion Callie Parsons. “She played hard all the time. No moment was more important than the next one and I really like that about her game,” Davison said.
The other is her cousin from Collinsville, Kim Burwell, whose promising career ended in a serious car wreck. “I like to attack every at bat and every moment as hard as I can to make Kimmy and my family proud,” Davison said.
That attacking mindset has grown along with her frame. Davison said the biggest jump in her game going into the new season is strength. “Our high school has a great strength and conditioning program, and I love being in the weight room,” she said, adding she gained 5 to 6 inches in height over the last year. “Now I have some pop to go along with the small ball stuff I always had to rely on.”

“Sometimes good things can happen if you are just patient, work and get a little lucky and grow,” Davison said.
