Collinsville’s Parker Knight

Junior Parker Knight is a key part of Collinsville softball. 

The game has taught her that hard work always pays off, she said.

“If you consistently give your best effort, the results will come in the end,” Knight added.

Her favorite memory, and one she is most proud of, is “hosting regionals during my sophomore year,” Knight said.

As a sophomore last year, McKnight enjoyed her foreign language class and for good reason.  

“My favorite teacher was my Spanish teacher, Mrs. Haney. She has the sweetest heart and always supports all of her students,” she said. 

Outside of sports, McKnight is a member of the National Honor Society at Collinsville

On the diamond, she has a few teammates who motivate her. 

“Mollie Cavanaugh inspires me because she gives her best effort in everything she does and always maintains a positive attitude,” McKnight said. “Kate Reid has had the greatest impact on me because she was a leader who consistently pushed us to be our best version of ourselves every day.”

Another she praises is Emma Helm.

“Emma is the type of teammate I want beside me every single day,” McKnight said. “She is one of the hardest workers I know and can always bring a smile to your face, even on the toughest days.”

She loves representing the red and blue of the Cardinals. 

“My favorite part about representing Collinsville is how we are all family and support each other,” McKnight said.

“The best advice I have received about softball is to control what you can and let go of what you cannot,” she added.

McKnight is appreciative of her leaders. 

“I would like to thank all of my coaches who push me to be the best version of myself and always support me,” she said.
