Collinsville Senior Spotlight Milee Thomas – Presented by Tulsa Bone & Joint

Collinsville senior Milee Thomas has built her high school soccer career on versatility, leadership and a willingness to do whatever her team needs. Primarily a center back and goalkeeper, she can also step into the center midfield, giving the Cardinals a steady presence all over the field.

Thomas is a three-time all-district selection and earned all-district honorable mention in 2024, but she said becoming a captain this season stands out just as much as the awards. “Soccer has shaped me into a better person both on and off the field,” Thomas said. “The most important qualities it has taught me are discipline, resilience and selflessness.”

Family has been central to Thomas’ journey. She started playing at age three while following in the footsteps of her older sister, Lilly, who remains her biggest inspiration. “Watching her grow and accomplish big things has pushed me to grow and become better myself,” Thomas said.

She also points to teammates Lilly Thomas, Ema Salazar and Kate Sinni for helping set the standard within the program. “These teammates have left a lasting impact on me and always wanted to strive for more as a team,” she said. One of her favorite memories came as a freshman, when Collinsville beat Sapulpa in the playoffs in double overtime and double penalty kicks to reach the state quarterfinals.

Thomas said her favorite part of representing Collinsville is “getting to play for something bigger than myself and making my teammates, coaches and community proud.” She credits Spanish teacher Mrs. Haney for always being supportive, and she looks up to Kobe Bryant for his work ethic, focus and determination. She keeps simple advice from coach Shear in mind: “Fly around and have fun.”

“Life is about figuring it out, no matter how long it takes you,” Thomas said, quoting Drake as she reflected on her journey. She added that she is grateful for her teammates, family and coaches “for their consistent support and always believing in me and pushing me to be better.”
